Day 5: Cinque Terre Trails

19 miles. That's how far we hiked today. We got up at 6:45 and hit the road almost right away to start the 5 hour hike through Cinque Terre's five villages, all of which are surrounded and separated by mountains and cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. The lower, more flat trails were closed, so we had to take the mountainous trails. Holy smokes, I would look up and the rocky stairs, and narrow paths just kept going and going. The views were spectacular though!

We hiked through 4 villages, but both trails were closed to the fifth village. We took the train from Manarola (village #4) to Corniglia (Village #3) and hiked 3 hours  back to our village. 11 hours later, we were finally home! Soar and knees shaking, we quick showered and both are an entire pizza at a cute restaurant in town. We also did a little yoga so that we can hopefully walk tomorrow. Now, bed!
